2022 [YEAR 2] SFS ANNUAL MEETING
The 2022 Society for Freshwater Science Virtual Annual Meeting was held at the Joint Aquatic Sciences Meeting (JASM) on May 14-May 20, 2022 in Grand Rapids, MI. JASM was organized by the Consortium of Aquatic Science Societies (CASS), which is composed of 9 scientific societies (including SFS) representing various interests within the aquatic science realm. The meeting included oral presentations, Emerge-exclusive workshops, plenary speakers, poster presentations, and social events.

The Emerge program funded in-person participation at the JASM for the Year 2 cohort of 7 undergraduate students, 17 graduate students, and 5 early career professionals (total: 29). In addition to Emerge- focused presentations, 19 fellows presented their own research (9 oral and 10 poster presentations). Additionally, Emerge provided partial funding for four Year-1 fellows to attend JASM 2022. The Emerge program was featured in three oral and one poster presentation. The poster created in the Year 1 Visual Communication Workshop was presented by a Year 1 (continuing in YR 2) early career fellow and co-authored by 13 additional fellows, including: 5 undergraduate students, 7 graduate students, and 1 other early career professional. The oral presentation based on data analysis at the Year 1 NEON+R Workshop was presented by Co-PI Dan McGarvey and co-authored by 14 fellows: 5 undergraduate students, 7 graduate students, and 2 early career professionals.
